Senior Jess Manfredi Named to the 2016-17 USCAA Basketball National All-Academic Awards List

Newport News, Va. - Through her final season with the blue-and-white, senior guard Jess Manfredi (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Serra Catholic) has earned a spot on the 2016-17 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National All-Academic Awards list.

Manfredi, who owns a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a communications and sports administration major, is also a two-time PSUAC All-Academic selection.

The USCAA All-Academic Team is awarded to basketball student-athletes who have accumulated a minimum GPA of 3.50 and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

Jess, a two-sport athlete in soccer and basketball, was only able to play first semester due to injury. On the court, the guard averaged 9.4 points through 11 contests and 30.7 minutes per game with an average free-throw percentage of 70.4% (19-of-27). As a senior, Jess contributed a total of 103 points, 45 total rebounds, 24 assists, 17 steals, and seven blocks. 

In the 68-55 flex over Penn State Schuylkill, Manfredi netted a season-high of 24 points with 56.3% (9-of-16) of her shots going in from the floor as well as 56.3% (5-of-11) of her shots falling from the foul line. Alongside her points, the guard added eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks.
