McKeesport, Pa. – With three winter storm systems set to pound Pennsylvania this weekend, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against Penn State Wilkes has been postponed. Now with only a doubleheader on Friday, the men’s team will get a week off before they are back in action and the women’s team will get an extra day to rest before their matchup with New Kensington on Monday.
Both PSUGA teams are competing for a spot in this year’s Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs and the extra day will allow both teams to rest up for the stretch run. Both teams are coming off wins against PSU-Mont Alto on Tuesday improving their positioning in the PSUAC standings.
Both teams will still play their games against PSU-Scranton on Friday with the double header beginning at 6 p.m. with the women’s game and concluding with the men’s game at 8 p.m. A makeup date for Saturday has been set for Monday February 4th with the women tipping at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m.
