McKeesport, Pa- Four of the five GA starters scored in double-figures, as they cruised to a 67-48 victory over Westmoreland CC. Shooting 46% from the field, in perhaps the squad's best output this season, GA earned a 32-15 halftime lead: one that they would not relinquish.
Sophomore Forward Aaron Byrd (Dr. Henry A. Wise) and Junior Guard Mike McCarthy (Sto Rox) tallied 15 points each, leading the team. Junior Center John Schmid (Glenbard West) added 14, with Sophomore Guard Nick Dizon scoring 10, while grabbing 13 rebounds.
A strong victory to start to the 2012 calendar year now puts the GA men's record at 4-8 overall, while remaining 2-4 in the PSUAC. Next up, is a PSAUC clash with Penn State York, this Friday the 13th. Game time is 8 PM.
