McKeesport, PA. – With the 2018-2019 Penn State Greater Allegheny Athletic Season quickly approaching, the PSUGA Men’s Basketball team has released their 2018-2019 season schedule which includes 15 home dates including a six-game home stand from February 1st – February 13th 2019.
PSUGA will compete in the Penn State University Athletic Conference’s new West Division where they will face PSU-DuBois, PSU-Beaver, PSU-Mont Alto, PSU-Fayette, PSU-Shenango, and PSU-New Kensington twice throughout the season, once at home and once away. Their conference schedule concludes with one game each against PSU-Schuylkill, PSU-Hazleton, PSU-Scranton, PSU-Wilkes Barre, PSU-Brandywine, and PSU-Lehigh Valley from the PSUAC East Division.
Their non-conference schedule features home contests against NCAA Division III Chatham University, United States Collegiate Athletic Association members Williamson Trade and Southen State CC, and NJCAA’s Butler County Community College. They will face one of their toughest competitions of the season on November 19th when they go on the road to take on NCAA Division II Powerhouse California University of Pennsylvania.
Fifth year head coach Tyler Care is excited about facing a challenging schedule in 2018-2019. The new 19 game PSUAC Schedule offers his team many opportunities against some of the top teams in the division. He also feels that his team’s non-conference games will set them up for success down the road.
“We are very excited about our 2018-19 schedule,” said Care. “We will challenge ourselves early on with Cal U of PA to be prepared for the new grueling 19 game PSUAC schedule. We are also excited about hosting crosstown rival Chatham University as well as USCAA rival Williamson Trade.”
The 2018-2019 season will start with a home matchup against Butler County Community College on November 2nd followed by the annual PSUGA Tip-off Tournament on November 9th and 10th. To see a full list of the schedule and for all of our other sports schedules, go to athleticsga.com.
