GA and Softball Alum Returns to Lead Program

Interim Director of Athletics, Jason Broadwater announced on Friday the hiring of new Softball Coach, Savanna Anastas. 

A 2019 graduate of Penn State and the Greater Allegheny campus, Savanna (Simm) Anastas, returns to lead a program she is quite familiar with.

"It is great to welcome Sav back to GA and our Athletics Department" said, Broadwater. "It is safe to say she has the respect of the campus community. I am excited to see her lead our Softball program. Her energy and passion for helping others is inspiring."

Anastas was a player for the Greater Allegheny Softball program from 2016-19.

A West Mifflin High School graduate, Anastas capped a successful high school career before coming to GA. 

Anastas said, "I am proud to be back in the PSUGA community and honored to be chosen as head softball coach. I am excited to coach a team I once played for, where I can continue my life-long love and passion for the game."
