Wreslters Dominate PSU Beaver in Inaugural Match
McKeesport, Pa- In their first ever home wrestling meet, Penn State Greater Allegheny dominated, winning every match except for those that were forfeits. GA would coast to a 36-12 victory, over visiting Penn State Beaver.
In the 149 lb weight class, Freshman Tyler Spencer of Langley High School picked up a pin-fall victory over Dylan Winkle of Penn State Beaver at 3:45. In the 157 class, Matt Lago, a Freshman from Penn Trafford High School, defeated Bob Tempalski via decision 6-5. Finally, in the 285 lb weight class, Andre Ellis (Steel Valley High School) won a decision over Wesley Mummert 4-3. PSUGA had several wins via forfeit as well.
All in all, it was a great first start at home for the Penn State Greater Allegheny wrestling team, who now stand at 1-1 overall and in PSUAC competition. The GA wrestlers will return to the mats next Thursday, December 15th, as they travel to Seton Hill for a 6:00 PM match.
