Five GA Cross Country Runners Named PSUAC All-Conference
State College, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference named the First and Second Team All-Conference winners this past week. Five of the recipients were Penn State Greater Allegheny student-athletes.
On the women's team, freshman Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) nabbed the First Team All-Conference award. Ramsey finished in first place in three of the races competed, only to earn second place in the other three competitions. The dual-athlete earned two USCAA Runner of the Week awards throughout the cross country season. Ramsey also set a new course time at Westmoreland County Community College's Cross Country Invitational with a time of 20:53 and also at the Penn State Greater Allegheny course with a time of 21:59. She also set a new course time at Penn State Wilkes-Barre's 2.5 flat course in 16:53.
Sophomore Shleby Bendick (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport Area) and freshman Kasey Dansak (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport Area) earned the Second Team All-Conference recognition. Both ladies had a large contribution to the women's cross country squad. Dansak competed in five races to assist the GA team, as Bendick raced in three.

Sophomore Rob Meier (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) earned the First Team All-Conference accolade after his second season of competition. Meier earned five-Top 10 finishes for the men's team, including finishing 7th in the PSUAC Championships with a time of 31:56.
Freshman David Markotan (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) picked up the Second Team All-Conference honor after his consistent first season. Markotan competed in all six races for Greater Allegheny's men's team. David held down five-Top 20 finishes for Greater Allegheny, including his best finish of the season being in the PSUAC Championship. He crossed the finish line in 14th place with a time of 32:59.
