Game Recap: Penn State Greater Allegheny vs. Penn State Beaver (March 28–29, 2026)
Penn State Greater Allegheny delivered a dominant four-game sweep over Penn State Beaver across the weekend, showcasing elite pitching, timely hitting, and explosive offensive production to extend their conference momentum.
Game 1 (March 28 – 12:00 PM)
Greater Allegheny 7, Beaver 0
Greater Allegheny set the tone early, plating four runs in the opening inning and never looking back. The offense capitalized on early opportunities, while Gabe Kendrick was outstanding on the mound, tossing six shutout innings with 11 strikeouts and allowing just three hits.
Duston Strom led the offense with three hits and two runs scored, while Eric Valentin added a two-run home run to extend the lead late. The Lions' pitching staff combined for a shutout, holding Beaver to just three hits.
Game 2 (March 28 – 2:00 PM)
Greater Allegheny 7, Beaver 0
The nightcap followed a similar script as Greater Allegheny completed the doubleheader sweep with another shutout victory. A four-run second inning fueled the offense, highlighted by RBIs from Shemar Barr, Brayden Patton, and Duston Strom.
On the mound, Matthew Rivera was dominant, throwing a complete-game shutout while allowing just three hits. Valentin added another home run, and the Lions finished with 10 hits in the win.
Game 3 (March 29 – 1:00 PM)
Greater Allegheny 8, Beaver 6
Game three proved to be the most competitive contest of the series. Beaver jumped out to an early 4–0 lead, but Greater Allegheny responded with a five-run fourth inning to swing momentum.
Josh Siegel delivered a key two-RBI single, while Duston Strom added an RBI double to cap the rally. After Beaver tied the game at 6–6, the Lions regained control with sacrifice RBIs from Eric Valentin and Zachary Williams in the sixth inning.
Brayden Patton earned the win on the mound, while the bullpen closed out the victory.
Game 4 (March 29 – 3:00 PM)
Greater Allegheny 16, Beaver 2
The series finale turned into an offensive explosion, as Greater Allegheny scored 10 runs in the first three innings and never slowed down. The Lions capitalized on walks and defensive miscues, drawing 11 free passes and scoring 16 runs on just seven hits.
Cole Rusak, Robert Amell, and Julian Santiago each drove in multiple runs, while aggressive baserunning created additional scoring opportunities. On the mound, a combined effort limited Beaver to just two runs to secure the sweep.
